Prepare the dry ware to biscuit fire first
先將完成了之作品風乾後以備素燒
Kiln
packing (keep 12mm away from the heating elements and the top)
入窯 (留12mm空間自四邊發熱線及頂部)
Place
the kiln top and insert the thermocouple
蓋上窯頂及插入溫度計
Place
the door with a gap for the steam escape
放上窯門時留下隙縫讓水蒸汽容易外洩
Set
the rate controller to position 0.5 - 1 (Start
the biscuit firing with a low fire)
將火力扭制調至 0.5至1 (以低火力開始素燒)
Turn
on the Temperature Controller and set the
temperature to 900 deg.C.
啟動溫度控制器後將目標溫度設定為攝氏900度
Steam
will start to escape when the temperature rise to
about 90 deg. C
水蒸汽會於攝氏90度左右開始外洩
At
about 200 deg. C, the steam will stop. You can close the door to a small
gap and set the rate to FULL. (Set to mid rate 2 - 3 for about 15 min.
or longer before set to FULL if the loading is heavy)
當溫度升至約200度時水份已接近完全揮發,可將窯門關小及將火力調至FULL(如果所燒的作品比較大量或厚重,可先將火力調至中火2
- 3左右燒約15分鐘後才調至FULL)。
You
can see the red hot when the temperature rise to about 500 deg. C.
當溫度升至500度左右,可看到窯內開始火紅。
After
the temperature rise to 900 deg. C, stop the power. Wait for a few hours
cooling and the biscuit fire is finished.
當溫度升至900度後可關掉電源以待冷卻至室溫,此時整個素燒已完成,可打開窯頂取出各素燒作品。
